The task was to identify suitable hiring candidates for a sales manager role in China. We used a social network analysis to deliver a list with suitable persons. Our client especially valued the quick and straightforward approach, which is combined with a very attractive pricing.
China has developed in one of the most important consumer markets globally. This huge demand also resulted in a rapidly growing pulp & paper market in the East-Asian country.
Smaller European producers often face difficulties in entering the Chinese market, because they lack the global setup and the relevant connections in the country. An Austrian producer of specialty paper wanted to expand its business in the large Chinese market and contacted Delphi Data Labs for support in their expansion strategy.
The key issue was, that our client faced difficulties to get a grip on new customers in China. Therefore, our customer made the decision to hire a well-connected local sales manager, who had the required product knowledge to create an instant impact. The problem was, that our customer didn’t find suitable applicants, although they were already trying to hire someone for a couple of months
Delphi has a proven solution for such kind of tasks. We applied a so-called social network analysis to map the employees of our competitors in a graph. We therefore could quickly identify all employees of the relevant competitors with strong China links.
In a second step, we screened the social media profiles of those employees to identify who was a sales manager. In a last step, we screened the connections and the work experience of the sales managers to identify the most attractive candidates.
We provided a list of names and contact details to the HR department of our customer. The Delphi approach was quick and straight forward – something our customers value highly. Our digital analytics approach enabled us to offer a price which is way below the average price of traditional headhunting agency.
